Real people.

Real stories.

Real hunger.

The Voices of Hunger team works to create a safe space for storytellers to share their lived experiences with hunger and poverty. Those stories serve as fuel in the movement towards the right to food, and humanizes the effort to make policy change in local, county, and state government.

Defining the Right to Food

“[Right to food is] rights to healthy food. It is access to good, fresh produce and good meats. That’s not the case in some of these poor, small towns that only have, like, a Dollar General. The right to food is access to good food, not just food. Good food.

-Anonymous, Wheeling, WV

“I believe that everyone should have the right to get food when they need it.”

- Heather M., Clarksburg, WV
